AWRSAY provides scholarships, personal development awards, and mentorship opportunities for students in the Arvada, Edgewater or Wheat Ridge communities who have overcome challenges and are committed to pursuing their goals. These scholarships are valid for Red Rocks Community College tuition and courses.

Is AWRSAY Right for Me?
We love hearing the stories of students and how they’ve overcome or handled their hardships. There isn’t a single path to academic success, all student’s path to academic success. All students’ paths and stories are different. The student you want to nominate may be eligible for scholarships or personal development awards if they meet or align with the following criteria:
Who attend school in the Wheat Ridge and Arvada areas.
Aspiring to earn professional certificates, licenses or attend a community college or trade school.
Has faced and handled life and academic challenges with integrity.
Demonstrates a devotion to future goals and aspirations.
Has made meaningful contributions to their community and neighbors.
Must go through our formal nomination process to be considered.
What Is the Application Process?
Applying for an AWRSAY scholarship or Personal Development Award is straightforward. If you’re eligible, simply complete the application and submit any required materials by the application deadline.
As part of the application, both the student and the nominator will have an opportunity to share the student’s story, including the challenges they’ve overcome, their goals for the future, and why they believe the student is deserving of an AWRSAY award.
Once all applications have been received, the AWRSAY Scholarship Committee carefully reviews each one. Selected recipients will be notified and provided with information about the award and next steps.
We encourage every student to share their story honestly. There is no “perfect” application—we’re looking for resilience, determination, and a commitment to building a brighter future.
