Applying for an AWRSAY Scholarship
Quality education is critical to a bright future. Unfortunately, many students face financial barriers and hardships when trying to access it. Do you know a promising young student with financial challenges, personal hardships, family struggles, health issues, or other difficult circumstances? Have they consistently demonstrated resilience and perseverance despite these obstacles? If so, AWRSAY may be able to help. We offer scholarship opportunities for students in Arvada, Edgewater or Wheat Ridge. Our scholarships and personal development awards are designed to help students continue their education and pursue their goals, regardless of the types of hardships they face.
Helping Students Get Financial Assistance
Every year, AWRSAY awards up to 10 $5,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in the Arvada, Edgewater or Wheat Ridge areas. Each student we consider is nominated by an educator or other local community member, or they can nominate themselves. If accepted, they may receive financial assistance to attend Red Rocks Community College.
What We Look for in Students
AWRSAY isn’t looking for perfect students. We’re looking for determined ones. We understand that academic and personal excellence can manifest itself in more ways than one. It’s not just limited to homework and grades. If you or a student you know demonstrates one or more of the following qualities, we would love for you to either nominate or apply:
Middle and high school students in Wheat Ridge and Arvada.
Handling and overcoming obstacles and challenges.
Has demonstrated integrity in their words and actions.
Has worked hard and shown care for their educational career.
Actively tries to improve the community and neighbors' lives.
Shows a clear focus on future goals and objectives.
Who Is Eligible?
If you know a student who demonstrates the qualities highlighted above, or you’re a student who has faced hardship with resilience, AWRSAY encourages you to learn more about how to get nominated for a scholarship. We try to make the process fair and as easy as possible. Do you want funding for an alternative educational path or pursuit? If so, we recommend exploring our Personal Development Awards, where you could be rewarded with up to $400.
